Distinguished and Famous people from Jindabyne Region
⛷️ Manuela Berchtold
Moguls skier Manuela Berchtold grew up in Jindabyne, the daughter of Swiss ski instructors. She represented Australia at the 2002 and 2006 Winter Olympics, finishing fourteenth at Torino after recovering from major knee injuries between the Games. Retirement from elite competition led to another local chapter through her High Country Fitness business. The connection therefore extends from childhood to sport and community enterprise. Her story also shows how knowledge developed through training and rehabilitation can find a practical use long after an athlete’s final Olympic run.
